June 1, 2017 San Diego, California
Pico Digital, an ATX Networks company, today announced that the company will be exhibiting at the 2017 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®
), taking place June 26-29 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. In booth #629, Pico Digital will showcase a wide range of cost-effective media and data delivery solutions for the hospitality industry, including its PD1600 ultra-compact headend in a box, professional-grade PD1000 HD encoder modulation system, and mini cable modem termination system (miniCMTS).
Pico Digital's PD1600 — the industry's most innovative headend — offers cable operators the performance and functionality of a traditional multi-rack headend within a compact 5-RU form factor. The solution extends the reach of satellite and cable operators into the local networks of hotels and other hospitality venues, providing them with complete control over content in QAM, IP, or analog NTSC format to the TV, while allowing free off-air channels to be added locally to increase the service offering.
The Pico Digital PD1000 HD encoder modulation system on display at HITEC 2017 allows users to encode both HD, SD, and HD-SDI signals in MPEG2 or H.264 formats. The unit supports 480i to 1080p real-time encoding, while offering the flexibility of two, four, six, or eight HDMI (in the clear), HD-SDI, component, and composite (closed captioning) inputs. The PD1000 offers simultaneous QAM and IP outputs.
For the cost-effective delivery of high-speed data services to hotels, Pico Digital will be highlighting its miniCMTS200a, which has been upgraded with new features and improved performance. The miniCMTS200a supports up to 400 DOCSIS 2.0 modems, or 250 DOCSIS 3.0 plus 150 DOCSIS 2.0 modems. With 16 downstream bonded channels for up to 800-Mbps downstream and four upstream channels offering 120-Mbps upstream data delivery, the unit easily copes with today's demand for over-the-top (OTT) video services or managed IPTV services.
Presented by the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), HITEC is the world's largest hospitality technology show. For more information on HITEC 2016, please visit http://www.hftp.org/hitec/
