Highlights to Include CONDOR Cable TV Headend System and STB Platform; PD1000 HD Encoder Modulation System; miniCMTS; and Optical Transport and RF Management Solutions
July 3, 2017 San Diego, California - Pico Digital, an ATX Networks company, today announced that it will exhibit a variety of solutions at ConvergenciaShow.MX 2017 designed to lower costs for telecom companies delivering cable services. Highlights in booth 602 will include Pico Digital's CONDOR cable TV headend system and set-top box platform, in addition to the company's professional-grade PD1000 HD encoder modulation system. Pico Digital will also be highlighting its mini cable modem termination system (miniCMTS) and ATX's optical transport and RF management solutions.

Cable operators who have struggled to transition away from analog TV or dead-end digital technologies are adopting Pico Digital's CONDOR platform as a way to give their subscribers the digital media experience they expect at a much lower cost than they imagined. An affordable solution for cable systems of every size, the upgradeable CONDOR system allows operators to efficiently convert to all-digital today to meet their subscribers' entertainment and connectivity needs — such as HDTV channels, secure premium entertainment, and high-speed broadband Internet — while enabling the simple addition of new services over time with Pico Digital's future-proof middleware.

The Pico Digital PD1000 HD encoder modulation system on display at ConvergenciaShow.MX allows users to encode both HD, SD, and HD-SDI signals in MPEG2 or H.264 formats. The unit supports 480i to 1080p real-time encoding, while offering the flexibility of two, four, six, or eight HDMI (in the clear), HD-SDI, component, and composite (closed captioning) inputs. The PD1000 offers simultaneous QAM and IP outputs.

For the cost-effective delivery of high-speed data services, Pico Digital will be highlighting its miniCMTS200a, which has been upgraded with new features and improved performance. The miniCMTS200a supports up to 400 DOCSIS 2.0 modems, or 250 DOCSIS 3.0 plus 150 DOCSIS 2.0 modems. With 16 downstream bonded channels for up to 800-Mbps downstream and four upstream channels offering 120-Mbps upstream data delivery, the unit easily copes with today's demand for over-the-top (OTT) video services or managed IPTV services.

Enabling network growth without the need for additional fiber infrastructure, ATX Networks multi-wavelength solutions for optical transport deliver superior performance and signal quality, while significantly reducing capital expenditures. Future-proof, reliable, and flexible solutions on display at ConvergenciaShow.MX will include optical transceivers, receivers, amplifiers, stackers, and destackers from the ChromaFlex and TranScend platforms and I-HUB outdoor node, in addition to standalone transport solutions and optical passives.

Featured ATX Networks RF signal management solutions will include the MAXNET, MAXNET II, and SignalOn® platforms. Designed to fit any architecture, the high-density, fully integrated solutions are modular-based and compliant to DOCSIS® 3.1 and CCAP, with the MAXNET II and SignalOn delivering RF performance to 1.218 GHz. The MAXNET is available with up to 18 passive modules or nine active modules. The MAXNET II accommodates up to 24 single-width or 12 dual-width active or passive modules, while its MCX connectors enable rack space savings of over 200 % compared to legacy management solutions. The RF/L-Band SignalOn utilizes F or BNC connectors for the highest rack space density achievable.

Taking place July 11-13 at the Mexico City World Trade Center, ConvergenciaShow.MX is the only expo and convention in Mexico dedicated to bringing together the pay TV and telecommunications industries.
